The President of the Suva Retailers Association and owner of the CK's Suva Bargain Centre Jitesh Patel is urging people to get vaccinated so they can welcome their staff back to work, start businesses as normal and get the economy moving.
Patel says his family and him are vaccinated.
The staff of Sports World have also been vaccinated and are urging people to get vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum had earlier said that people have the constitutional right to refuse a medical procedure or treatment however if your employer says you cannot work at that workplace unless you get vaccinated, then you face the consequences and won’t be able to work there.
Sayed-Khaiyum said the Government is not looking at mandatory vaccinations for COVID-19 however people who do not get vaccinated may be told by their employer that they cannot work there.
