Please celebrate Christmas responsibly and be considerate of others.

This is the message from the Fiji Police Force for the Christmas long weekend as they beef up operations over the next 24-hour period and are requesting the public to be safe.

Chief Operations Officer Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu is requesting all Fijians to celebrate responsibly and be respectful of others.

He stressed that while Police will be out in numbers, members of the public must do their part by prioritizing their safety and security at all times.

A/ACP Driu says simple measures such as working with one's neighbours and existing neighbourhood watch committees can greatly assist crime prevention efforts.

The Chief Operations Officer is also reminding members of the public to inform their nearest community posts and stations if they intend to be away from home during the long weekend.
