It was a night of glamour and great vibes as former and current staff of Communications Fiji Limited celebrated the 40th anniversary of the company.

What started as a dream in 1985 has now grown to be one of the most recognised platforms in the media industry in the region.

CFL is the parent company of LegendFM, FM96, VITIFM, Navtarang, Radio Sargam and fijivillage.

CFL Board chairman William Parkinson acknowledged the contributions of former and current staff in building the company to what it is today.

He says CFL is where a lot of people came for their first job and its great meeting people from different eras who contributed much to the organisation.

Parkinson stressed that people has always been the focus of the company and cultivating new talents.

He says former staff from New Zealand, Australia, America and others have turned up to celebrate this milestone achievement.

He adds it is critical for traditional media to step up as there is a lot of misinformation or fake news around.

The Chairman says traditional sources of media need to have a solid base of information because if they do not have that, then the citizens can't rely on them.

He adds this is absolutely vital for a good democracy.

CFL Manager Charles Taylor says last night was an opportunity to thank the CFL alumni, who have helped build the company.

He acknowledged the staff for putting together a wonderful few weeks of celebrations from Fiji Showcase 2025 to the three days of special events this week.

The CFL Gratitude Concert will be from 4pm to 11pm tonight at Albert Park with artists like Seru Serevi, Laisa Vulakoro, Saimoni Vuatalevu, Big Wilz, Steve Macomber, Kuki, Rosi Loa, Tom Mawi, Vegas 6, Marama, The Gang, Nicky and Ouvacast ft. Billy T, Ciwa Music – Ratu, Kaliti, Asinate and Oni as well as entertainment from the VOU Dance Company and the Bollywood Dhamaka Show from the Navtarang and Radio Sargam team and Ronald Jai.
The fun starts with the food stalls and a bouncy castle from 12pm today.

The CFL Gratitude Concert will also be livestreamed from 4pm today on our website, fijivillage and on our facebook pages, fijivillage and Communications Fiji Limited.
