Vice President of the Fijian Teachers Association, Meli Yabakivou

The demonstration of peace for teachers must first be seen by them before they go out to school and try to create peace amongst students in the classroom.

Speaking to fijivillage news, the Vice President of the Fijian Teachers Association, Meli Yabakivou says at first when teachers have peace with them then they will portray humility and then the passion to teach and care for the students will just fall into place.

Yabakivou says once you have the passion to teach teachers will be able to work well in a day.

He says students come from different family backgrounds but the teachers need to understand them and try to create a family within them so that they feel at home and eager enough to express themselves.

The FTA Vice President is also reminding parents that they are the first teachers at home and it is important for them to teach them values and how to behave amongst other people.
