Serious concerns are being raised about the delivery of service at the Valelevu Health Centre after a patient was made to wait for a doctor to see them for more than 5 hours.

A concerned patient has told fijivillage News that they arrived at the health centre at about 11am yesterday and were not seen even at about 4.30pm.

They say there are supposed to be 6 doctors at the health centre but there are only 2 that are seeing the patients.

A woman is also raising concerns as she left the health centre without being seen by a doctor on Saturday night after hearing from others that had been waiting for more about three hours.

She says she went to the health centre and after having her blood pressure taken by the nurse, she was told to wait.

The woman says after waiting for about an hour and getting frustrated, she was told by a couple sitting beside her that they had been waiting for more than two hours.

Acting Permanent Secretary for Health, Doctor Jemesa Tudravu is expected to provide a response later.
