Pastor Vulaono, Tappoo, Whiteside, Leung and Young among recipients of commemorative medals today

Barry Whiteside, Sumeet Tappoo and Pastor Atunaisa Vulaono were part fo the 31 people awarded with commemorative medals.

Another 31 people who have contributed to Fiji’s development and progress in the past 50 years were today awarded with commemorative medals for Fiji’s 50th anniversary of independence by President Jioji Konrote.

They include Tui Namosi and SODELPA MP Ratu Suliano Matanitobua, Longtime Chief Organiser of the Coca-Cola Games Vuli Waqa, Highly respected sporting official Patrick Bower, Highly respected lawyer and former President of the Fiji Law Society Graham Leung, Former Chairman of the Electoral Commission and Founder and currently Precedent Partner of Young and Associates Chen Bun Young, Founder and General Superintendent of the New Methodist Church Pastor Atunaisa Vulaono, Former Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji Barry Whiteside, Bollywood Singer and Director of the Sai Prema Foundation Sumeet Tappoo, Managing Partner of the Law firm - Sherani & Co Hemendra Nagin and Former South Pacific Decathlon Champion and Olympian Albert Miller Senior.

Mohammed Ikbal Akbar Jannif also received a medal today.

He is the CEO of Caines Jannif.

Jannif has also served as the FNU Chancellor and Chairman of PAFCO.

Raj Pati Kewal, Ratu Isoa Gavidi, Selina Lee Wah, Dr Aisea Konusi, Dr Mosese Ligani, Ambassador Pundit Bhuwan Dutt, Dr Mansoor Ali, Dewan Chand Maharaj, Dr Virgilio C.De Asa Senior, Joe Rokovada, Jitoko Soko, Sawelio Raura, Indar Prasad, Emma Bovoro, Rusiate Korovusere, Dr Ratu Vereniki Raiwalui, Tammie Tam, Usaia Radrokai and Prakash Chand also received medals today.
