Parts of Nadi and Lautoka to face temporary disruption of water supply from 6pm

People living in parts of Nadi and Lautoka will be facing a temporary disruption of water supply from 6pm this afternoon.

The Water Authority of Fiji says the interruption in supply is to allow their Operations Team to conduct urgent repair works on a leaking section of one of the Bulk Supply Raw Water Trunk pipelines located along the Vaturu Dam access road at Qawaru.

They say the leaking section of the trunk main is part of the Vaturu to Nagado High-Pressure trunk mains system that transmits raw water from Vaturu Dam to the Nagado Water Treatment Plant.

Their engineers and technical teams are currently undertaking essential preparatory works and will be conducting the repair works tonight to restore water supply to affected areas.

WAF says water carting trucks are on standby to service customers living in the affected areas during the temporary disruption period.

Areas that will be affected in Lautoka includes Bavadra Road, Ram Sammy Reddy Road, S. M. Koya Road, Sarju Delegate Road, Kashmir Areas, Chandmari, V. M. Pillay, Razak Road, Kermode Road, Tavakubu Road, Sukanaivalu Road, Waiyavi, Vomo Street, Hollander, Simla Area, Sandalwood, Jinnu Road, Kaunitoni Road, Kara Punja, Cakau Street, Waya street, Dravuni Street, Ratu Meli Road, Adam Street, Tavakubu back Road, Eddie Wong street, Musuniwai street, Ganges Road, Ram Asre, Golf Link Crescent, Link Road, Maharaj Place, Bulileka, Varamaoli and Tavakubu Village.

Vuda Reservoir Feed- Viseisei Village, Vuda Point, Dreketi Feeder Road, Delai Saweni, Saweni Beach Road, Lauwaki Village, Rototank Road, Velovelo Road, Navutu.

Saru & Nagado Reservoir Feed- Natabua, Navula, Vuda back Road, Wairabetia, Saru back Road, Field 40 Area, MN Naidu Road, Balawa, Chandmari High Area, Morris Street, Hedstrom Place, Banaras, Viseisei Back Road, Vuda Back Road from Queens highway, Saru MGM, Topline Area, Natokowaqa, Ajodhya Road, Josaia Street, Ika Place, Tavai Street, Dawai Street, Tawatawa, Vaivai

Areas affected in includes Nagado, Nadele, Holika, Taci, Togomasi , Togo Lavusa, Solovi, Meiganyah, Malolo, Navo, Tunalia, Transmitter Top, Nacovi , Sonaisali and Veiladan, Nasau, Vutuvutu, Katigari, Mulomulo Top, Tabarak, Malamala, Nawaicoba, Yako, Nabila, Nalovo, Uciwai and Fiji Marriot Momi Bay Resort.
