Parliament Speaker’s vehicle overturns after accident along Rewa Street

The Speaker of Parliament Filimoni Jitoko’s vehicle has been involved in an accident with a private vehicle along Rewa Street, close to the Sun Fryer restaurant.

Police confirm the accident occurred at about 11.40am today.

They say a vehicle travelling along Rewa Street with two passengers went into the oncoming lane and collided with the government vehicle.

The government vehicle overturned due to the impact of the accident.

Police say a person from the private vehicle was injured and taken to hospital.
