Parents should use their discretion on whether their children should go to school today.

This has been stated by Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro as TC Rae intensifies into a Category 2 system.

Schools in the Northern Division, Lomaiviti and Lau Groups are closed today.

He says teachers and school management are also expected to make the necessary calls about whether schools should remain open or closed for the day due to the current weather conditions.

He adds their divisional education services have been advised to encourage school management and their respective schools accordingly, especially for those that remain open or closed due to the surrounding flood-prone areas.
