Kumar says by providing top-tier cardiac care within Fiji, they are enabling patients to receive world-class treatment without the need to travel abroad, preserving familial support and easing the financial burden on our community.

He adds they are guided by a commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centred care.

Kumar says their team delivered unparalleled precision and skill, showcasing PSH Hospital's ability to offer high-calibre, life-saving interventions previously unavailable in the region or any private hospital in Fiji.

He says the establishment of their open-heart surgery program is the culmination of meticulous planning over the past 15 months, cutting-edge technological investment and invaluable collaborations between all the disciplines at the PSH Hospitals.

The Hospital’s Director says their preparations and plans over the 15 months till the day of surgery had prepared PSH Hospitals so well that they had back-up plans for back-up plans and they strove for a 100 percent success rate and they continue to strive for a 100 percent success rate always.

Kusum Lata, the first patient to undergo an open-heart surgery at PSH Hospitals thanked God, the doctors and nurses for their unwavering support and care.

She says she is very thankful also to the hospital (PSH) for starting this service.

Lata says she could not afford to go to India for her surgery, however, Pacific Specialist Healthcare made it possible for her right here in Fiji.

The Hospital says this milestone achievement is a proud moment for Fiji as a whole because the Hospital is a local institution which is owned and operated by locals.

They say PSH Hospitals which is a super-specialty hospital network having hospital facilities in Nadi and Suva has been the driving force for medical tourism in the country with its super-modern hospital in Nadi, together with the specialized services that the hospital is able to offer.

In thanking the personnel, PSH Hospitals Founder Parvish Kumar says this historic achievement represents more than a technical triumph; it embodies a compassionate commitment to the people of Fiji and the Pacific.

He says for many patients, it means that life-saving cardiac treatment is now within reach, free from the limitations of distance or accessibility.

Kumar says their fees for open-heart surgery are lower than what patients would pay for a complete heart journey should they go to India, Thailand, etc.
