Team Fiji has bagged two silver and three bronze medals in athletics at the 2025 Pacific Mini Games.
Both the women’s and men’s 4x100 metres relay teams secured silver, with men finishing in 40.76 seconds.
Penaia Ramasirai got them started, Waisake Tewa sprinted hard, Waisea Tuiyabayaba powered through the last bend, and Waisale Inoke finished it off strong.
The women clocked in a time of 47.33 seconds.
Melania Turaga took off first, Heleina Young flew down the track, Braelynn Yee handled the last bend beautifully, and Sera Nasilivata finished strong.
Loata Lewageena claimed silver in the Senior Women’s Discus event with a throw of 48.15 metres, while Brieanna Rabakewa won bronze in the same event with a throw of 45.61 metres.
In the Men’s Triple Jump, Samuela Vunivalu secured a bronze medal with a jump of 13.70 metres.
Waisiki Koyamainaqoro finished just outside the medals in fourth place with a jump of 13.39 metres.
Reki Roberts added to Fiji’s medal tally by finishing third in the Senior Women’s High Jump with a leap of 1.50 metres.
Fiji is third on the medal tally with 22 gold, 8 silver and 21 bronze medals.
Tahiti is leading with 59 gold ,37 silver and 21 bronze while Samoa is second with 27 gold, 14 silver and 20 bronze medals.
