PM reminds Year 8 students to remain focused, confident and give their best

As more than 19,000 Year 8 students will sit for their Fiji Year 8 Certificate Examination starting today, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is encouraging students to remain focused, confident and give their very best effort.

Rabuka extends his best wishes to all Year 8 students across the country.

He says may this important milestone open new doors of learning and opportunity as students continue their journey towards a brighter future for themselves, their families and for Fiji.

According to the Ministry for Education, last year 18,973 students sat for the exam, with a pass rate of 69 percent.

The first paper will be English at 10am, followed by Healthy Living at 12.50pm.

Tomorrow, Basic Science will be at 10am followed by Social Science at 12.50pm.

On Wednesday, Mathematics will be at 10am, followed by Vosa Vaka-Viti and Hindi at 12.50pm.
