Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka on fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says he has received concerns regarding excessive overseas by ministers and has asked the Secretary to Cabinet to keep a record of who is travelling and when.

While responding to questions on fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan on how will overseas travel be monitored and will it continue, Rabuka says it is being monitored and he has asked the cabinet Ministers to look at their overseas travel or if someone else can be sent on their behalf.

Rabuka says he approves or disapproves the travel and when it comes to him, he finds out if they are really essential travel.

The Prime Minister says they cannot really cut down too much but he has asked them to be more realistic about it.

When asked if it was necessary to have the Prime Minister and the three Deputy Prime Ministers overseas, Rabuka says they can all be away at the same time and there is no problem with that.

He says he had thought the Deputy Prime Ministers would be back by the time he travels but they were not so he had to appoint Minister for Transport Ro Filipe Tuisawau as Acting Prime Minister.
