Over 50,000 boys and 20,000 girls from 28 districts will compete in the Kaji and Kajiana Rugby Competition, which commences next month.
While speaking at the launch, Primary Schools Rugby Union President, Sakiusa Turagabeci says this launch marks the participation of districts from across Fiji, highlighting the sport’s widespread reach and the union’s goal to provide every child with the opportunity to play rugby.
Chief guest and “King of 7s Rugby,” Waisale Serevi, also encouraged students to live by four guiding principles: stay strong, say no to drugs, leave no one behind, and speak up when something is wrong.
He says rugby not only builds physical strength but also sharpens the mind, fosters loyalty, and strengthens the spirit through faith in God.
Vodafone Fiji’s Chief Marketing Officer, Rajnesh Prasad, says rugby in Fiji is more than just a game—it’s a way of life, a cornerstone of Fijian culture.
He says the Vodafone Kaji and Kajiana Rugby Tournament provides a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and develop the character and discipline needed for professional sport.
He adds that Vodafone’s sponsorship ensures continued support for coaches, parents, and volunteers who are helping to shape the next generation of Fijian rugby stars.
The Fiji Kaji and Kajiana Rugby Tournament will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of next month at the HFC Bank Stadium.
