Over 400 residents of River Road, Narere will now have access to a proper road after a 10-year wait.
Resident Mohammed Shahid has expressed immense gratitude and happiness about the new road construction, noting that the issue had persisted for far too long.
He explained that, being retired, he often struggled with the ongoing cost of repairing his vehicle due to the poor road conditions, stressing that the new road will finally ease those expenses.
District Advisory Councillor for Narere and Navosai areas, Jitendra Singh shared that residents have faced numerous challenges over the past decade, emphasising that taxi operators often refused to pick up passengers because of the road’s poor condition.
He further highlighted that students struggled to walk to school, especially during wet weather, when the road became very muddy.

Singh adds that with the festive season approaching, the newly constructed road is a blessing for the residents.
Meanwhile, he also stresses that they face flash flooding, which often washes away the road.
He says they will be submitting another request to the Ministry of Waterways.
Singh emphasises that the flooding is due to debris and grass clogging the waterways, and they are requesting the cleaning and dredging of the river.
