FijiFirst MP Howard Politini says it has been a tough 2 years for many of us and their voters deserve better which is a continuation of the FijiFirst Government.

While giving his maiden speech in Parliament this morning, Politini says Fiji stands united by patriotism and we have achieved great things together.

He also says during his boarding school days in the 1990’s, there was no such thing as free education under former Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka’s Government.

Politini says Rabuka is ranting in the media today that he started free education.

He says he remembers bus loads of students being sent home because they could not afford to pay school fees.

Politini says this could have been Rabuka’s interpretation of free school fees.

Rabuka had earlier told fijivillage that his SVT government introduced the tuition fee-free education for primary school however levies and grants were still being charged.

The SVT Government had started tuition fee-free education for classes 1 to 8 in the 1990s however parents still had to pay building grants and other levies charged by the school.

Rabuka says the aim was to progressively continue to other years.
