50 year old Elenoa Vakacegu

50 year old Elenoa Vakacegu who has been selling bananas and vudi at the Suva Market for the past 6 years says her commitment has helped her to buy a 4-wheel drive vehicle and get into sheep and cattle farming in her village.

Vakacegu says her main supporter through her success is her husband who always gives money to the village of Vatubalavu in Navosa and they have to plant acres of bananas and vudi for her supply.

She says she is always away from home for almost 2 weeks just to sell the goods that she has in the Suva Market and then goes back after all her goods are sold.

The 50-year-old says since they have another house in Tacirua, with the money she gets she manages to pay the bills since two out of the four children are still studying and living in their house in Suva.

She adds the minimum amount she earns in a week is $500 to $1,000.

She encourages everyone to utilize the land because we can earn our living out of it.
