Our prayers are with the families after the horrific ferris wheel accident - Tabuya

Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya says their prayers are with the family of the 21-year-old deceased and with the other individuals who were injured during the horrific ferris wheel accident at Fiji Showcase.

Tabuya says they are waiting for the investigation report.

She has acknowledged the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Agni Deo Singh and the OHS unit and the Fiji Police Force for their prompt response to the accident and for immediately shutting down the ferris wheel at the event.

She says Assistant Minister for Women and Children, Sashi Kiran had visited the grieving family.

Tabuya says this is a terrible occurrence and hopes that such occurrences are prevented in the future by putting people’s safety first.
