Villagers of Waiqori and Dakuiloa on Oneata, Lau, are grateful for the government’s relief assistance, which reached their shores following Tropical Cyclone Rae.

Tikina representative Lasarusa Vuetaki thanked the government for the timely support, especially as families were still planning how to celebrate Father’s Day.

The government’s joint operations team assigned to the Southern Lau districts distributed relief assistance to 40 households, 20 in Waiqori Village and 20 in Dakuiloa Village.

The assessment team recorded key areas of interest, including agriculture, while Team Leader Osea Ravukivuki emphasized the importance of ensuring that no one is left behind and that aid reaches those in need.

Additionally, health officials provided dental services to the villagers of Oneata.

The team is scheduled to be in Moce and Komo tomorrow.
