Ofakilomaloma Swan and Penina Cirikiyasawa have been appointed as the newest members of the governing councils for two of Fiji's premier institutions, the University of the South Pacific (USP) and the Fiji National University (FNU).

Swan has been appointed to the USP Council, while Cirikiyasawa will serve on the FNU Council.

The Education Ministry says both women bring extensive leadership experience and a deep commitment to public service and education in Fiji and the Pacific region.

Minister of Education Aseri Radrodro expressed his confidence in the ability of both women to contribute to the continued growth and success of USP and FNU.

Radrodro says he is pleased to welcome Swan and Cirikiyasawa to their new roles, and their diverse expertise in leadership and education will greatly benefit these institutions and contribute to shaping the future of higher education in Fiji and the Pacific.

The Minister for Education also emphasized that these appointments reflect the government's ongoing commitment to fostering strong, diverse leadership in education.

He adds Swan and Cirikiyasawa's combined expertise will support USP and FNU in producing graduates ready to meet the challenges of the future.
