In an effort to improve access to justice and ensure a more streamlined process for the people in the community, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has opened its 10th office, located at Savila House, in Nasinu.

Acting DPP, Nancy Tikoisuva says with the increasing criminal cases arising from the Nasinu jurisdiction and the presence of a courthouse in the area, the new office will significantly improve the delivery of justice for local residents and reduce logistical issues.

She says the opening of the new Nasinu office is part of their continued efforts to improve the accessibility and efficiency of prosecution services across the country.

The ODPP says the new office aims to enhance the efficiency of the legal proceedings in the area, as previously prosecutors had to travel from Suva and Nausori to attend court cases in Nasinu.

They say this office is staffed with two prosecutors, one administrative clerk and a driver, ensuring a more efficient and effective response to the growing number of cases in the Nasinu jurisdiction.

There are now offices in Nasinu, Nausori, Rakiraki, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Sigatoka, Labasa, Savusavu and the ODPP headquarters in Suva.
