Minister for Education Premila Kumar.

The numeracy and literacy curriculum for primary schools is complete and will be trialled and tested in 90 primary schools from the new school year in April.

Minister for Education Premila Kumar says this is part of the review and implementation of the school curriculum.

Kumar says they will then assess how the implementation goes.

She says the training of teachers will also take place simultaneously.

Kumar says they are still in talks with DFAT which has also come on board to assist them with the secondary school curriculum review.

She says they are hiring an expert to help them with the history curriculum as this position was advertised.
