The Denver Nuggets have been crowned the new NBA Champions after winning game 5 of the NBA Grand Final series beating the Miami Heat 94-89 yesterday afternoon.
The Heat were trailing the Nuggets 3-1 in the series and needed to win this game to keep their hopes alive and extend the game to one extra but the Nuggets held their ground to clinch the game.
Two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic was the toast of his Nuggets side scoring 28 points with 16 rebounds and 4 assists.
This is not only the Nuggets’ first time winning the Championship, but it is also their first time making it to the NBA Finals.
