Minister for Local Government and Education Premila Kumar.

Minister for Local Government and Education, Premila Kumar says for the past two years we have suffered in terms of attracting investments because of COVID but now is the time that we have to go out and promote exports and investment and enhance our economic growth.

While supporting the Investment Fiji Bill 2022, Kumar says our private sector endured and showed resilience in the most difficult times and most businesses have carried on despite facing challenges due to the closing of the borders.

The Minister also highlighted that Investment Fiji has a huge role to play.

Kumar also highlighted the time she worked at Investment Fiji and why she left within one year.

Kumar also questioned whether NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad proposed anything during his contribution that the government could consider adding there was nothing concrete from Prasad.

She also says that Prasad can’t focus on the subject matter because he is only thinking of how he can sit on the government side.

Kumar adds Prasad will have to wait for quite some time.

The Bill has been passed in parliament.
