The trial of former Fijian Holdings Limited CEO Nouzab Fareed that was supposed to start today has been rescheduled to the 15th of March 2021 before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili.

Fareed is facing 3 counts of indecent assault.

The state lawyer in this case has asked if the dates can be moved to try and bring in one of the complainants who is in South Korea.

Fareed's lawyer Hemendra Nagin told the court that the state had more than enough time from August to arrange for the travel arrangements for the woman.

Nagin had also said that if the trial does not proceed by this date, then they will be asking to withdraw the case.

Nagin then asked if one of the bail conditions which required Fareed to report to a police station once a month can be lifted.

Chief Magistrate Ratuvili than agreed and the other restrictions to remain.

There are two complainants in the case.

The other complainant is in Fiji.

The alleged incidents happened between May and September last year.

Fareed’s bail has been extended.
