The three provinces of Cakaudrove, Bua and Macuata will unite for a grand Fiji Day celebration in Labasa this Thursday.

Commissioner Northern Uraia Rainima says the Northern Division is ready to welcome people from across the region to mark the occasion together.

Rainima has thanked the Government and the Ministry of Home Affairs for moving the celebrations to the North, calling it a privilege for the people of the Division.

He says the civil servants have been actively organizing activities across the provinces including clean-up campaigns and visits to the elderly and those living in old people’s home; distributing gifts as part of the preparations.

He says with many buses hired to transport people from the three provinces, Labasa is ready to host the big event.

He is encouraging families to come together, enjoy the day and share special moments with loved ones from different areas.

The celebration will be held at Subrail Park where the theme is ‘To Heal and Hope’.
