Fijians in the Northern Division, Lomaiviti, and Lau Group should prepare for more rain, as a heavy rain alert remains in effect and will continue to impact parts of the country until later today.

The Fiji Meteorological Service reports that TD01F was located approximately 80 km north-northeast of Suva or 190 km northwest of Moala as of 3 am today and continues to move eastward at 20 km/hr, away from the group.

The heavy rain warning previously in effect for Yasawa and the Mamanuca Group, Viti Levu, Beqa, Vatulele, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands has now been cancelled.

However, a Flood Alert remains in force for flood-prone areas adjacent to and downstream of all major rivers in Fiji.

A Flash Flood Warning is still in effect for all low-lying, flash flood-prone areas and small streams in the Northern Division.

Additionally, a Flash Flood Alert is in force for all low-lying, flash flood-prone areas and small streams of Viti Levu.

People living downstream of major rivers and in coastal regions face heightened risks of flooding, especially during high tide.

The weather office says it is crucial for everyone in these vulnerable areas to stay alert, follow weather updates closely, and take necessary precautions to protect their loved ones and property.
