No timeline given as to when the Samabula Pedestrian Crossing Lights will be fixed

How long does it take to fix the pedestrian crossing lights at one of the busiest intersections in the country?

The Fiji Roads Authority has not given a timeline as to when the Samabula Pedestrian Crossing Lights will be fixed.

The two crossing lights for pedestrians, one of which extends from Calvary Temple to FNU Samabula Campus and the other extends from the FNU Samabula Campus to the Samabula Police Station, have not been working for over two months now.

Fijivillage has witnessed school children crossing roads without seeing or knowing whether they have the green light to cross.

We have asked FRA numerous times to tell us the normal timeframe to fix traffic lights as this is a major concern and the Samabula intersection is one of the busiest intersections in the country.

The lights need to work in order to give a proper indication to pedestrians as to when it’s safe for them to cross.

FRA says it will comment later.
