No objection by Chinese Embassy

No objection by Chinese Embassy
The Chinese Embassy in Fiji said it has no objection to Taiwan's non-governmental economic, trade and cultural contacts with Fiji and other countries.

This comment came after the Head of the Trade Mission of Taiwan Victor Chin expressed sadness at the Chinese Embassy's alleged attempt to cut off the Taiwan mission in Fiji.

The Chinese Embassy in Fiji said there is only one China in the world and Taiwan is a part of it.

It said that the Chinese government opposes any attempts aiming at creating "two Chinas", "one China, one Taiwan" or "Taiwan Independence".

A Statement from the Embassy reads that the one China principle is recognized by the vast majority of the international community and it is natural for Fiji and other countries to handle the Taiwan question in accordance with the One China principle.

The Trade Mission for Taiwan in Fiji has earlier said that   attempts by the Chinese Embassy to cut off the Trade Mission of Taiwan here was clearly noticed after the Mission was not invited for a briefing by the Interim Government on the flooding.
