SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka

SODELPA Leader, Viliame Gavoka has rejected suggestions that there are moves to remove him as leader of the party in the SODELPA Management Board meeting today.

Gavoka says SODELPA President, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau’s directive is clear that there should be no attempts to remove the leader of the party and they should focus on the preparations for the 2022 general elections.

Gavoka also says suggestions by SODELPA MP, Lynda Tabuya that he may be removed and she is available to lead the party, are also misguided.

The management board meeting is currently underway.

Tabuya is also in attendance. However she has not made any comments as yet.

When contacted earlier today, SODELPA Vice President, George Shiu Raj says he will not comment on the suggestions to remove Gavoka as the party leader.
