While there is still no confirmation if former Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa was against Bill No 17 or not, Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says people should get the answer if they saw the voting that took place in Parliament with regards to Bill No 17.

Sayed-Khaiyum said this when questioned if Vuniwaqa was against the Bill to amend the iTaukei Land Trust Act which was passed in July.

The Parliamentary Hansard does not state if Vuniwaqa had supported the Bill or not because the votes were conducted by acclamation.

It was earlier claimed that Vuniwaqa was against Bill No 17, and this was one of the reasons why she left the FijiFirst.

Questions sent to Vuniwaqa if she supported the Bill or not, remain unanswered.
