Hollywood star Jason Momoa says entire islands are drowning into the sea due to the enormous volume of emissions generated by the first world countries.
While speaking at the SIDSSamoa Pathway event, Momoa says island nations contribute the least to this disaster but are made to suffer the weight of its consequences.
Momoa adds the oceans are in a state of emergency, entire marine ecosystems are vanishing with the warming of the seas.
He adds the island nations and the coastal communities are the front‑lines in the environmental crisis.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has thanked Momoa for fighting for the interests of every island citizen.
The Prime Minister says he cannot think of a better ally than Aquaman to secure a sustainable future for small states.
Momoa is famous for roles such as Aquaman and his role as Khal Drogo in the Game of Thrones series.
