Police are yet to arrest anyone in the two murder cases in Lami and Labasa last week.

A Year 9 student was murdered in her home in Namara, Labasa last Wednesday night.

People heard the girl scream for help and upon checking on her, the landlord discovered her lying near the front door with visible stab wounds.

The girl was home alone as her mother was yet to return from work.

No arrests have also been made in the murder of a woman in Lami last Tuesday.

Firefighters attending to a report of a fire in Lami found the woman unconscious in one of the rooms on the second floor.

She was pronounced dead at the CWM Hospital.
