Vilisi Misimisi, the proud mother of Vodafone Fijiana centre and Encore Rookie of the Year Josivini Naihamu, didn’t have a television at home to watch her daughter at the Women’s Rugby World Cup but with love and determination, she made her way to a neighbour’s house just so she could watch her daughter’s dream come true.

With no television at home, Misimisi’s determination to witness the proud moment was unwavering.

Watching her daughter on the world stage was a moment of immense pride for Misimisi, who described Josivini’s achievements as something truly special.

She says she has done something none of her siblings have, and she is travelling the world playing the sport she loves.

A mother of three, Misimisi says she and her husband decided to buy a television ahead of the team’s final match against Wales. She says watching her score two tries brought her to tears—tears of joy and pride.

Misimisi shared the words she told her daughter before the tournament and that is to go and show the world the talent God has given her and play her heart out—for her family and for everyone in the village.

Fijiana only won one game in the Rugby World Cup and returned last night.
