The new teachers’quarters at Soloira District School in Naitasiri will provide much-needed housing for educators, helping to attract and retain staff and improve learning conditions for students in the community.

While commissioning the facility, Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro reminded teachers and school leaders of their responsibility to motivate students and guide them towards excellence.

He also emphasised the crucial role of parents in supporting their children’s education, encouraging them to stay engaged, monitor attendance, and serve as positive role models.

The Minister urged students to set clear goals, work hard, and make their families and communities proud.

The $95,000 facility was co-funded by the Ministry of Education, which contributed $40,000 through the Building Grant, and the school community, including parents, villagers, and stakeholders, who raised the remaining $55,000.

The Minister acknowledged the dedication of the school community, saying that families contributed despite financial challenges, demonstrating their love for education and commitment to better learning opportunities for children.

He also thanked Tough Wood PTE Ltd for successfully constructing the facility.
