15 to 20 new jobs are expected to be created when Bluegas set up a high-purity oxygen generating plant this year.

This facility under the Bluegas Industrial and Medical Gas Division will be located in Vuda.

The plant will generate oxygen for medical and industrial use with purity of up to 99.7%.

It will be certified under the National Association of Testing Authorities in Australia.

Bluegas says they initially planned this facility for 2023 but decided to accelerate the project in the wake of the recently growing demand for oxygen of medical and industrial grades.

Managing Director Ajai Punja says the plant is big enough to cater for the Fiji demand right now.

He says they are investing a substantial amount of money for this facility and it runs into millions of dollars.

The company plans to start commercial production by the end of this year.
