New facility to bring families together

Construction will begin in January next year on an 11 bedroom facility that will be able to house families who have a seriously injured child admitted at the Labasa Hospital or have travelled from outside of Labasa.

The construction value for Ronald McDonald House at the Labasa Hospital is $500,000.

It will come fully furnished and will be equipped with a kitchen, dining area, lounge area, play area, and toilet and bathroom facilities.

There will be no cost for staying or utilising Ronald McDonald House.

The house will be managed by Ronald McDonald House Charities who signed the construction contract with Fortech Construction Pte Limited today.

Construction is expected to be completed by June 2021.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Fiji currently operates the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the CWM Hospital which has been in operation since September 2018.
