Valelevu Police are investigating a case of infanticide following the discovery of the body of a newborn baby girl at Veiraisi Settlement yesterday.
Police say a 42-year-old woman found the body while returning from a fishing trip.
She recovered the body, took it home and reported the matter to the Police.
When asked on whether there are any suspects in the murder case, Police say the investigation is in its early stages and they cannot speculate on the matter.
