It was a momentous day for the students and management of Laucala District School in Taveuni as they received their first-ever boat from the Ministry of Education.

The school management and Head of School expressed their sincere gratitude to the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, for the timely donation and also for taking time out to visit the schools in Taveuni.

Radrodro toured the island during his Cakaudrove District visit, meeting with teachers, students and school management. The Minister and his team visited Somosomo District School, South Taveuni Primary School, South Taveuni Secondary School, Salialevu Primary School, Vuna District School and Navakawau Catholic Primary School.

At Somosomo District School, Radrodro and the team met with international volunteer students of the LDS Church who generously donated a new 3-classroom block to the students.

The school is indeed blessed with this kind gesture, as it will ensure that students can learn in a completely new classroom block.

The visit concluded with a talanoa session with teachers and representatives of the Board of Governors of Bucalevu Secondary School.
