Leadership Fiji experience drives change in alumni careers

Two alumni of the Leadership Fiji program shared how the innovative leadership program has helped them and how they have applied its lessons in their different roles and responsibilities.

While speaking at the Leaders Lounge on Innovative Leadership, Co-Lead of Greenhouse Studio, Miri Tuinamadi, shared that after joining the program, it has helped to develop her leadership skills in working with clients, especially in understanding the importance of building strong professional relationships.

She adds that another key lesson she learned from the innovative leadership program is adaptive leadership, and being able to adjust to different situations.

It has also helped in building her confidence to speak in public.

CEO of Merchant Finance, Veilawa Rereiwasaliwa, highlighted that one of the biggest threats to innovative leadership in Fiji is culture.

Rereiwasaliwa says that Leadership Fiji showed him that sometimes just doing their work for the sake of the organisation is not enough.

He says there is also a need to look at national issues and consider how their role or the business they are in can influence change.

He also learned that being agile, while keeping an open mind and allowing people to speak and share their views, is important.

Meanwhile, Tuinamadi shared that Greenhouse Studio will be transitioning into a new phase with the launch of Greenhouse Pacific later this year.
