The new Mega Supermarket & Hardware in Votualevu, Nadi has given about 10 people the opportunity to earn a living for their families.

Director, Irish Khan says he wants to help the people of Votualevu with low prices as they are struggling because of COVID-19.

Khan says he intends to open a chain of supermarkets in the Western Division and is planning to build a shopping complex on a plot of land he owns in Sonaisali next year.

The Director adds a chain of supermarkets will give him more buying power and that will allow him to keep prices low in his supermarkets.

He opened their first supermarket in Cuvu, Sigatoka last year.

Speaking at the opening, Minister for Commerce, Faiyaz Koya stressed that the commitment of domestic investors remains critical to reinvigorating the Fijian economy.

He says they want to bring back jobs, provide families and businesses with the stability that they deserve and this has always been their number one priority.

Koya says they want to create an economy that is built on the value of resilience so when they see investments of this sort, they know their policies are making the impact intended.
