It was a joyous moment for five market vendors after witnessing the opening of the Flagstaff Mini Market.

The new market has a parking area and toilets.

Sanjita Devi who has been a market vendor for the past 6 years says the new facilities will help them grow their business and attract new customers.

She says they will be working closely with the Suva City Council to manage the place of a partnership system.

Marika Kaloulia says he is thankful they now have male and female toilets at the market.

He says they hope the new market will attract more customers.

Speaking at the opening of the new market, Minister for Local Government Premila Kumar says the Flagstaff market is an addition to several other markets they have improved over the years.

She is urging the vendors to look after the new facilities because they won't be the only ones to use them but also customers.
