Captain Epeli Ledua

From a humble upbringing in Kinoya to living his dream as a boat captain on the Captain Cook Cruise in Sydney, Australia, Epeli Ledua has described his journey as “struggle”.

Fijivillage caught up with Captain Ledua who hails from Vakano village in the Island of Lakeba in Lau and is one of the three captains who are currently driving the Sydney 2000, the largest Captain Cook Cruise vessel at the Sydney Harbour in Australia.

The 44-year old says his achievement has helped to provide for his family in the past eight years.

Ledua adds he never gave up on his dream to become a boat captain and work overseas.

He believes this has encouraged him relatives and children growing up from his family that nothing is impossible in life.
