Nawaka resident Abel Camillo.

The people of Nadi are still facing the full brunt of COVID-19, even though business activities are starting to resume.

Nawaka resident Abel Camillo says things are worse in Nadi as families are leaving each other and now landlords have increased the rent despite people earning something or not.

He says he has heard stories from people in Nadi who they have assisted that life is a struggle now because the cost of living has increased and finding employment is hard.

He adds what is happening in Nadi, is something they did not imagine that will happen.

Camillo was part of the Western COVID-19 appeal team that was working with Allen Lockington, FRIENDS Fiji and other organisations to assist families who have been struggling due to the pandemic.
