Navua feel blessed to be playing in a Premier Division tournament after 6 years

The Koromakawa Rentals and Tours Navua soccer team knows that playing in a Premier Division tournament after six years will be tough because the level of competition will be different from what they have been facing in the past few years.

The last time Navua featured in a Premier Division tournament was in the 2014 Battle of the Giants.

Navua’s captain Vineet Chand says it is a blessing to be back but they are aware of the challenge ahead because other teams are well versed with the competition and it is unfortunate that they were not part of it.

Chand says the win against Go Fry Nasinu in the Vodafone Premier League two weeks ago was a morale booster for them because they had not won a single match since their return to the top flight.

He adds the aim now is to continue from where they left of in the league and build on it when the tournament kicks off.

Navua takes on Nadi in the first match of the Punjas Battle of the Giants tournament at 12pm this Friday.

You can catch the live commentaries of the Labasa-Suva match at 2pm, Ba-Nasinu clash at 4pm and Rewa-Lautoka game at 6.30pm on Radio Sargam.
