After more than a century, the land known as Native Grant 2 (NG2) in Nadarivatu will finally return to its rightful owners, Mataqali Nadala, Yavusa Nubu.

The Government states that this land was first acquired by the Colonial Government in 1905 for public purposes but today, that purpose is no longer needed, as the Cabinet has approved its reversion to the community..

They say all existing leases on NG2 will now be administered by the iTaukei Lands Trust Board, ensuring the land is managed fairly and sustainably for the benefit of Mataqali Nadala.

The Government says this marks an important milestone, not only for the landowning unit but also for Fiji, a recognition of heritage, ownership, and the deep connection between our people and their land.
