Fiji National Futsal Head Coach, Jose Gerardo has praised the talent and level of competition showcased during the Extra Futsal IDC 2025.

He described the tournament, held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, as one of the most competitive editions in recent years, where several promising players could be considered for the future national squad.

Gerardo says the players’ fitness, quality and tactical awareness has improved significantly.

He also welcomed the Fiji Football Association’s new rule requiring players to commit exclusively to either futsal or football, noting that it will help improve professionalism and consistency.

In the final, Suva defeated Tailevu/Naitasiri 3–0 to retain their title.
