Nasoko to come back and play sevens after undergoing knee surgery.

The former captain of the Fiji Airways men's national 7s team Kalione Nasoko is still finding his way back after an injury last year nearly ended his rugby career.

Coach Gareth Baber says it is a huge leap forward for Nasoko to come back and play sevens after undergoing knee surgery specifically an ACL reconstruction where the torn ligament is removed and replaced with a piece of tendon from another part of your knee.

Baber says he has known players who do not come back from an ACL reconstruction.

Last year, Scottish club Edinburgh backed out of signing Nasoko because of his injury.

Baber says players in the extended training squad will be featuring for their clubs in the Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s in Taveuni which kicks off on Thursday.

40 teams are playing in the tournament.
