The Nasinu Gurdwara will be distributing more than 800 meals today to people who have been impacted by COVID-19 and they expect to do so for at least another two Saturdays.

The Head Priest of the Sikh Temple, Dalwara Singh says they started distributing meals on the 11th of September as lot of people do not have food and jobs.

He says they have distributed more than 1,000 meals so far.

Singh says there is no greater service to humanity other than being able to feed at least one meal to the needy.

He says they are not asking for donations from anyone and this has been made possible by their members who have helped them from the good will of their own heart.

The Head Priest says they had plan to continue giving out meals every Saturday until December this year but because businesses are expected to open from the 4th of October, they will be continuing for at least the next 2 Saturdays.

They are also planning to give out meals at least twice a month after 4th October.
