Defending Coca-Cola Triple N Zone champion Nakasi High School will not let the rainy weather faced in recent weeks dampen their competition spirit as they aim to retain their title again this year.

With the competition being postponed due to the rainy weather, hundreds of athletes from the schools in the Rewa, Naitasiri and Tailevu provinces will take centre stage today when they compete for glory at the HFC Bank Stadium.

Nakasi High School Principal Praveen Chand says the aim this year is for the boys to defend the title again.

Chand says they have limitations and issues, but he trusts the strengths of the students to be demonstrated during the two-day events.

He says 110 athletes are representing their school for the Triple N Zone.

Triple N Coordinator Alifereti Tawake says 19 schools are ready for the two-day event, and it will start at 8am today.

Adi Cakobau School and Nakasi High School are the defending champions for the boys and girls division.
